Boutique Hotels Tips

Good Morning Travelers,

Our tip today will be about hotels. I don’t know if you noticed, but in the last posts of instagram (@descubra_madrid) people expressed a lot of interest in the tips. So today we will be bringing some recommendations about some evaluated hotels which offer good services to its customers. More specifically, we will be discussing about the boutique hotels

This concept of hotel is nothing more than an intimate establishment which provides sophisticated and innovative experiences to the customers whom is seeking for tranquility and comfort. Those hotels distinct itself due its high qualities facilities and compliance with the customers. They usually have a limited number of rooms, but they have a complete infrastructure of leisure and lavish services. This is the new trend in the international hotel sector that has been conquering the preference and taste of travelers, due to its main differentials: exclusivity and customized service.

With that on mind, we already know those hotels hold exclusivity and personalized service to its customers. So now we will be jumping into what they offer, exploring more the details.

Let’s go to our tips.

I will start talking about the “Dear Hotel” (4 stars), which is located on “Gran Via” with the “Plaza España”. It is one of the sales champions in the reservation portal of Booking. This hotel is highly recommended by its guests, and it is located right on the corner of the Plaza España subway, very well situated,  presenting high standards of excellence in its services. It has a terrace with a stunning post card view, plus a super recommended restaurant, spectacular breakfast, rooftop pool which in the summer is much appreciated!

Another recommendation is the Hotel Regina (3 stars): I have been in this hotel many times, and many of my customers also stayed there. Moreover, it is also loved by Americans. Recently, the hotel had a reform, changing completely the decor, entering into the category of “boutique hotel”. The «new look» of the hotel is super fancy, making the service highly evaluated, and now it has a great advantage: it is located in a great location between “la puerta de sol” and the Seville subway, next to Gran Via.

My third recomendantion is the Vincci The Mint( 4 stars). It stays in the famous “Gran Via”. It is a hotel with a innovative concept and a vanguard décor, made by the famous decorator Jamie Beriestain. The hotel offers a immense comfort and VIP service. It all begins with the check in which happens in a bar, allowing the guest to take a drink while the his entrance is made. It is fancy, isn’t it? I personally loved this. Other relevant factor and the guests love is the breakfast. It is vast and well variable, with no fixed schedules, something that endear the customers. The hotel also has a stunning view from the terrace, which also holds a comfort bar. It is definitely a champion hotel.

One shot Prado (3 stars) is our fourth recommendation and it is located in the “Bairro de las letras”. Its décor is minimal, and it stays close to the Plaza Santa Ana. This hotel definitely know how to welcome its guests. I have been in this hotel once and I can definitely say it deserves applauses. They don’t have a local breakfast service. They have made a deal with a nearby coffee shop whereby its guests go there to have breakfast. The coffee shop  is called “Ateneo”, a classic one in Madrid. If this place shows up as an inconvenient for you, I recommend you going to another coffee shop around the city which also hold a partnership with the hotel.

Optimizing your time, hire a transfer in Madrid

In our post today, we’re going to talk about how to move around in Madrid.

barajas madrid airport

Many of you have been asking me a very common question of a situation I see happening every day. Both the good and the bad examples of travelers that arrive in Barajas – Madrid: “I just got here, how do I get to my hotel?”

The first thing to think about is: am I travelling by myself or in a group?

If you’re travelling alone I would say you have the explorer profile so you should, definitely, go down from your arrival terminal and buy a subway ticket. One day tickets cost 8,40 euros and can be used for 24 hours in subways, buses and trains.

There’s another option which is the autobus express that will leave you in the city center making only two stops (one in Cibeles Fuente and another in Atocha Station).

The only bad thing about this bus is that if your hotel is far from these stops, you’ll need to find another way to get there. It costs 5 euros and it is pretty fast. I recommend it for light packers and someone who’s ready to walk.

The Autobus Express stops are flagged and they’re always near each terminal’s exit gate.

A different option would be to take a cab. There’s a pre-established price of 30 euros from the airport to the center of the city. In case you’re travelling with another person or more, this could be for you. Usually cab drivers are smart and they try to charge extras for bags and people. Be careful not to be scammed! In case you choose the taxi, demand a receipt when you get to your destination. This way you have all the data about the vehicle and driver in case you end up losing something and you want to get it back. But that’s not always certain.

The best option of all is the private transfer.

When you get to the airport your driver is waiting for you with a sign with your name on it. He’ll help you with luggage and leave you at your hotel door. This is something that helps a lot after hours on a plane.

Our company offers this service which can be booked previously through the email: info@madridpremiumtours.com.

In Barajas (airport) there are countless companies that offer this service and, thinking about the cost and efficiency, it’s really interesting. You pay 75 euros and the car takes up to 7 (seven) people including luggage for a 55 km route or approximately 20 minutes.

Madrid Premium tours ‘s recommendation is always to book the transfer, hotel x airport, and also some tours to meet the city and the historic neighbor towns of Toledo and Segovia, to which we have schedules.

Come get to know Spain!

We’re here in Madrid waiting for you.
