Boutique Hotels Tips

Good Morning Travelers,

Our tip today will be about hotels. I don’t know if you noticed, but in the last posts of instagram (@descubra_madrid) people expressed a lot of interest in the tips. So today we will be bringing some recommendations about some evaluated hotels which offer good services to its customers. More specifically, we will be discussing about the boutique hotels

This concept of hotel is nothing more than an intimate establishment which provides sophisticated and innovative experiences to the customers whom is seeking for tranquility and comfort. Those hotels distinct itself due its high qualities facilities and compliance with the customers. They usually have a limited number of rooms, but they have a complete infrastructure of leisure and lavish services. This is the new trend in the international hotel sector that has been conquering the preference and taste of travelers, due to its main differentials: exclusivity and customized service.

With that on mind, we already know those hotels hold exclusivity and personalized service to its customers. So now we will be jumping into what they offer, exploring more the details.

Let’s go to our tips.

I will start talking about the “Dear Hotel” (4 stars), which is located on “Gran Via” with the “Plaza España”. It is one of the sales champions in the reservation portal of Booking. This hotel is highly recommended by its guests, and it is located right on the corner of the Plaza España subway, very well situated,  presenting high standards of excellence in its services. It has a terrace with a stunning post card view, plus a super recommended restaurant, spectacular breakfast, rooftop pool which in the summer is much appreciated!

Another recommendation is the Hotel Regina (3 stars): I have been in this hotel many times, and many of my customers also stayed there. Moreover, it is also loved by Americans. Recently, the hotel had a reform, changing completely the decor, entering into the category of “boutique hotel”. The «new look» of the hotel is super fancy, making the service highly evaluated, and now it has a great advantage: it is located in a great location between “la puerta de sol” and the Seville subway, next to Gran Via.

My third recomendantion is the Vincci The Mint( 4 stars). It stays in the famous “Gran Via”. It is a hotel with a innovative concept and a vanguard décor, made by the famous decorator Jamie Beriestain. The hotel offers a immense comfort and VIP service. It all begins with the check in which happens in a bar, allowing the guest to take a drink while the his entrance is made. It is fancy, isn’t it? I personally loved this. Other relevant factor and the guests love is the breakfast. It is vast and well variable, with no fixed schedules, something that endear the customers. The hotel also has a stunning view from the terrace, which also holds a comfort bar. It is definitely a champion hotel.

One shot Prado (3 stars) is our fourth recommendation and it is located in the “Bairro de las letras”. Its décor is minimal, and it stays close to the Plaza Santa Ana. This hotel definitely know how to welcome its guests. I have been in this hotel once and I can definitely say it deserves applauses. They don’t have a local breakfast service. They have made a deal with a nearby coffee shop whereby its guests go there to have breakfast. The coffee shop  is called “Ateneo”, a classic one in Madrid. If this place shows up as an inconvenient for you, I recommend you going to another coffee shop around the city which also hold a partnership with the hotel.

Madrid Tips For This Summer

Tips for this Summer

Recommended to the tourists.

The coming of the high temperatures weathers make us to be careful about some things.

It’s recommended to the tourists to protect themselves from the insolation using sunscreen, drinking often, that’s because the humidity rate is very low as in Madrid as much as in Toledo. Sometimes it’s normal people’s noise to bleed out; Avoid very extensive tours. Do begin your tours in the morning, take a rest during the hottest hours of the day and enjoy the sunset evening to meet the bars of the city. That are some of my tips for whom is visiting Spain, specially visiting Madrid from July to August.

Thinking of your well-being, I did some recommendations I consider opportune.

Take notes!

  1. Do your citytour between 10am and 2pm;
  2. Light foods for lunch. I recommend you to try any menu in the center of Madrid. The pricing is easy, and you eat very well. The menu is about 12€ ( including starter + main course + drinks + side dish + dessert).

The end of the afternoon is the best time to go for a walk or simply just sit at a bar for trying a “sangria” drink, or a veteran red wine.

I recommend you to stay at least for 5 days, this way you will be able to explore the city with no hurry, peacefully. Do the rest during the hottest hours, it’s important for don’t get exhausted. Do not fool yourself thinking of know the whole city in one day.

Eating well on less than 15 euros in Madrid

Today we will suggest some Madrid menu options that are under 15 euros.

When we are on a trip in another country, we have the feeling that we are going to spend much more than we would in our country.  And we are right.

If your destination is Madrid, I will present you some places where you will certainly eat much better than in any restaurant in your city and spend way less.

All the options mentioned in this post are located in the downtown area, therefore they are easily accessible for travelers.

Let’s start

Eating well on less than 15 euros in Madrid -salada caprese

Finca de Susana, Menu Price €10.95

Address: Calle príncipe 10, Bairro de Las letras.

Good food, diverse and varied menu, and a friendly environment. For 10.95 it offers 1st and 2nd bread, a dessert and a drink. It’s perfect for those who do not have much time and want to enjoy the trip. Your food is served fast there, and the service is very efficient.  There is no dinner menu. I recommend trying the gratinated cod fish with spinach. Tasty!

Di Maria, Menu price €12.90

Address: Calle Preciados, 32

This is an indication for the lovers of good meat. It’s an Argentinian restaurant that has many franchises spread around the city. We chose the one at Calle Preciado, which is the one we visit the most usually.  The best option is to eat à la carta (order separately). It’s one of the best meat options we have in Madrid. Those who are not willing to spend there is the option of a 12.90 menu.

Public , Menu price €10.65

Address: Calle del Desengaño, 11

cod gratin

Great option! Modern decoration, and the place offers a menu with 1st and 2nd bread, wine, and dessert for reasonable 10.65 euros. Express service. Visited exclusively by Spanish. There is no risk of finding a touristic environment. There is no dinner menu and the prices are à la carta.

Ateneo, Menu price 14,90

Address: Calle Santa Catalina, 10,

Eating well of Madrid

Excellent Menu, perfect customer care  They are very caring. Friendly restaurant. It offers a menu with 1st and 2nd bread, wine, and dessert for €14.90 and opens for dinner. Note that there is no menu options for dinner.

Almost every restaurant in the downtown area has a menu option.

The average price is within the range of 10 and 15 euros. These are our recommendations of today.

If you want to find your option by yourself, share your experience with us.

See you next time.
