Get a True Taste of Madrid with the Beer and Tapas Tour.

Madrid is such a gorgeous and vibrant city. There’s so much to do and see to truly get acquainted with it, but by far, one of the best ways to experience Madrid is to drink it all in with craft beers and sink your teeth into the tantalizing tapas.

Get a True Taste of Madrid
Beer and Tapas Tour.

Madrid Premium Tours offers a 3 to 4-hour Beer and Tapas Tour, taking you and your taste buds on an epic adventure around the most modern and lively neighborhoods in Madrid – Chueca and Malasaña. In the capable hands of a charming guide who not only knows his way around Madrid even with his eyes closed, but also is an accomplished and professional beer sommelier, this is one tasty tour you don’t want to miss.

During the Beer and Tapas Tour, you’ll visit 2 bars, a brew pub, and a shop that specializes in craft beer. As the guide takes you to each place, you’ll have the unique opportunity to enjoy the beers that are crafted in Spain. You won’t just taste them though, which arguably is the most fun part, but you’ll also get to learn about the different varieties of beer and learn how to pair them harmoniously with some of Spain’s most delectable and popular tapas.

Your sommelier/tour guide will show you the key to matching the flavors of the beers you sample through the most riveting Spanish tapas around. You may see tapas including calamares (fried rings of squid), albóndigas (meatballs in sauce), pulpo a la gallega (Galician-style octopus), or even queso con anchoas (cured Castilla or Manchego cheese topped with anchovies).

When the tour stops at the brew pub, you can watch beer in action during the production process. But you won’t just have to stand there idly. You’ll get to taste a freshly brewed beer right off the line, and there’s really nothing quite like it.

The Beer and Tapas tour finishes with a final venture to a beer shop. You’ll discover over 300 different labels of beer, including an exclusive selection of the brands of Spain, making it easy to buy your favorite ones to take home with you.

By the end of the tour, you’ll have that delightful beer buzz along with a belly fully of Spain’s tastiest tapas. For €75.00 per person, it’s an affordable way to experience a different slice of Madrid.

Places for wine tasting in Madrid

Places for wine tasting in Madrid

“Wine rejoices the heart of man and joy is the mother of all virtues.” Johann Goethe

We’re going to talk about wine today.
Brazilians have been improving their wine consumption and learning about its characteristics. Although Spain’s relationship with wine is ancient, there’s record of grape farming since 4000 B.C.

In 2014 Spain became the world leader in wine production and it’s recognized around the world for its wines.

According to the Wine Institute data about wine consumption, Spanish people are in 7th place in the world ranking, with 10 million HL. Surpassing Argentina and Russia. USA leads the ranking, followed by France. They are the biggest wine consumers in the world, registering 32,1 million HL in 2014.

Italy and Germany are around 20 million HL, soon followed by China with 15,8 million and the UK with 13,9 million. These are the major consumers.

Insteresting data, right?

If you’ve become eager to know about the wine universe, we’ve made a list of some places where you can taste them and deepen your knowledge.

Vides, calle liberdad 12 – in the Chueca neighborhood. Downtown.

In my opinion this is a great option if you’re starting in the wine world and would like to have an enological experience. There’s a great variety of wines, from all around Spain. Little known wines from big and small cellars. Many of them not even on the market yet. You can also taste delicious Manchego cheeses. The atmosphere is popular, and it’s always full. So if you want to be seated you need to arrive early.

Vinoteca Maratin, Calle Moratin 36. Las letras neighborhood.

This one is on Madrid’s top 4. More than a wine bar, this is a restaurant. Praised on tripadvisor. Here you can taste all the best wines in Spain and around the world. Highly known wines. The food is really delicious. The style is more refined. This is the right one for you if you’d like to be quietly seated enjoying a great bottle of wine.

Vinoteca Barbechera; Calle Principe 27, Santa Ana square.

Easily found, in the heart of Las Letras neighborhood. Has a good variety of wines and tapas. It’s always full. The atmosphere is pretty eclectic because this wine bar is inserted in a tourist route. Both Spanish people and tourists visit this place and the prices are very affordable.

Xalavid, Calle Barbieri 20 , Chueca neighborhood.

This is a place I’ve been to a lot. Ideal for group visits. They organize the wine tasting and games with wine themes. A great place to discover quality wine. Through the website you can find out what the programming for the day will be. They offer a 3 wine menu+ 3 appetizers and desert for 25 euros. It’s a different concept from the wine bars above. Perfect for small groups that want an enological experience.

Did you like our recommendations?

If so, take notes and make your visit.

If you’re a wine enthusiast, these are the places you should visit in Madrid. Don’t lose this opportunity.

Eating well on less than 15 euros in Madrid

Today we will suggest some Madrid menu options that are under 15 euros.

When we are on a trip in another country, we have the feeling that we are going to spend much more than we would in our country.  And we are right.

If your destination is Madrid, I will present you some places where you will certainly eat much better than in any restaurant in your city and spend way less.

All the options mentioned in this post are located in the downtown area, therefore they are easily accessible for travelers.

Let’s start

Eating well on less than 15 euros in Madrid -salada caprese

Finca de Susana, Menu Price €10.95

Address: Calle príncipe 10, Bairro de Las letras.

Good food, diverse and varied menu, and a friendly environment. For 10.95 it offers 1st and 2nd bread, a dessert and a drink. It’s perfect for those who do not have much time and want to enjoy the trip. Your food is served fast there, and the service is very efficient.  There is no dinner menu. I recommend trying the gratinated cod fish with spinach. Tasty!

Di Maria, Menu price €12.90

Address: Calle Preciados, 32

This is an indication for the lovers of good meat. It’s an Argentinian restaurant that has many franchises spread around the city. We chose the one at Calle Preciado, which is the one we visit the most usually.  The best option is to eat à la carta (order separately). It’s one of the best meat options we have in Madrid. Those who are not willing to spend there is the option of a 12.90 menu.

Public , Menu price €10.65

Address: Calle del Desengaño, 11

cod gratin

Great option! Modern decoration, and the place offers a menu with 1st and 2nd bread, wine, and dessert for reasonable 10.65 euros. Express service. Visited exclusively by Spanish. There is no risk of finding a touristic environment. There is no dinner menu and the prices are à la carta.

Ateneo, Menu price 14,90

Address: Calle Santa Catalina, 10,

Eating well of Madrid

Excellent Menu, perfect customer care  They are very caring. Friendly restaurant. It offers a menu with 1st and 2nd bread, wine, and dessert for €14.90 and opens for dinner. Note that there is no menu options for dinner.

Almost every restaurant in the downtown area has a menu option.

The average price is within the range of 10 and 15 euros. These are our recommendations of today.

If you want to find your option by yourself, share your experience with us.

See you next time.

Know famous Tapa’s history

tapas tour of Madrid - Madrid premium tours

The origins of Tapa

In our post today we will tell you a little bit about the gastronomic culture in Spain. The name had its origin in an episode in southern Spain, in a tavern in the city of Cadiz, where King Fernando VII asked for a glass of wine with a side. At the moment the waiter was serving him, a kind of air swirl invaded the room, and to keep the wine from spilling he cover the glass’ top with a slice of cheese. “To cover”, in Spanish, means “Tapar”

Watch the video provided by the website :www.vacaciones-espana.es

The King liked the idea and asked to his court for another glass of wine “with Tapa”. There are many stories related to Tapa, and another notorious one is that which King Alfonso X, the Wise, following medical orientations, would always eat something after drinking any alcoholic beverage so he wouldn’t get drunk. Thus, he determined that every bar and tavern in Castilla should not serve alcohol unless followed by any sides.

After telling you this story, we invite you to “Tap” with us!
